ITEM TITLEAntique Nephrite Jade Zhou Dy Pei Taotie Ax God Artifact Bird Man Carved Pendant
- Condition: Pre-owned
- Notes: This piece is in excellent antique condition, with no apparent chips or previous repairs.
For your consideration is this wonderful antique nephite jade pendent. It has a double-sided relief carving (with some engraving) of two hook-bill birds facing each other, which also forms the features of a man’s face. The stone is a nice waxy nephrite jade specimen in natural grey/green with russet coloring. The stone measures almost 3″ long, 1 1/2″ at it’s widest, and is about 3/8″ thick. It tapers at the bottom, resembling the Pre-Columbia Mesoamerican “ax god” carvings. There is a hole drilled in the top that does NOT look original to the piece.
