Description

For your consideration is this English John Bently Verge Fusee pocket watch. This watch has an English Gold date code that has an “Q” and “GC”. GC is an English maker George Collins in London. The case was made in 1811 according to the date code and I think the watch is from the same time period. The movement is marked, “Jn Bently Liverpool No.78641”. This is for parts or repair. The watch doesn’t run, though the balance seems ok. When wound, the watch moves the hands rapidly indicating that there is a problem with the verge contacting the crown wheel. There is a verge type of escapement and a fusee. The dial has a few hairlines. The crystal is a bullseye crystal and the edge has chips by the 1 & 2. The watch is missing its key.
