For your consideration is this very ornate 19th Century New Amsterdam Quadruple Plate Silver Co. Antique Pickle Castor. This is original but has a gold wash finish with some loss, and was “Protected by Invicta” at some point in time, as a sticker on the bottom states.
The glass has no cracks or chips and the tongs are included. The gold tone plating is ‘spotty’ and worn in spots, and there are two large and one small spots of tarnishing on the outside of the base, two are visible as it stands. Also some along the sides of the stand and on the bottom rim of the lid. The lid has two small dents around the base. The tongs have ornate designs on each side and bottom. This is 11″ tall and 5″ wide.
The base markings are as follows: “Protected by Invicta Do Not Polish” Sticker. New Amsterdam Silver Co Quadruple Plate. 382 X stamped on. D9880 HT inscribed on.
