For your consideration is this believed to be Japanese Banko Ware pottery vase. The vase is in a stone colored tan matte, bisque-like finish with a hand painted enamel scene of roses and birds. The roses and birds are in a raised relief. The vase is marked with Kanji on the exterior bottom. The vase measures about 5 ½” tall by 4 ¾” in diameter with a 2” diameter opening. There are no chips, cracks, or paint wear on it. Please see pictures for further detail.
