USONA Goodwin Art Pottery Porcelain Footed Ferner Handpainted Red Berries Green
For your consideration is this handpainted three footed porcelain ferner/ bowl. It has a USONA (United States of North America) Goodwin mark inside of the bowl with a coiled red dragon. The piece likely dates between 1906 to 1913 according to information listed on Kovels.com . The bowl has a turned-in fluted edge with gold gilding. The paint on the exterior consists of a dark brown blending into a brick red which has been applied over a base of a soft, pale lime green. The design appears to be brick red berries or grapes with grape leaves. There is gilding wear around rim and crazing throughout. The interior is a cream glaze. This piece measures 5 3/4″ tall by 10″ in diameter with about a 7″ diameter opening. A few places show very small paint wear. Two small hairline cracks at the rim which are only seen in the interior. One flake in the glaze on one foot and one on the bottom of the bowl. 16712CW |
