For your consideration is this fine WW2 1945-dated Legitimus machete by Collins & Co.
The 18″ blade is marked U.S. Legitimus Collins & Co 1945 and has the hammer and crown symbol.
The stocks have been wrapped in black tape. The blade appears to have repainted black at some point. The blade is sharp and shows signs of use, including nicks and resharpening.
If this relic could talk, what stories would it tell? Was it carried through the jungles of the pacific by the former owner (a local WW2 veteran)? Did it witness the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima? Slog through the hellish swamps and jungles and view some of the most brutal combat of the second world war?
The condition is overall good for a military service piece of this vintage.
