For your consideration, we offer this Civil War Era military trunk. The trunk has a rounded lid. It is covered on the outside with a weather protective blue-black canvas coat over another fabric, over wood that is tacked into place. Each of the 4 straight edge has an extra piece of orangish colored wood. The trunk top features a metal American Eagle holding three arrows & olive branch in its talons, a shield with 13 stars and stripes, and a ribbon with E Pluribus Unum. The eagle is surrounded by 13 buttons/studs. Along the top ridge are star button studs. Inside the wood trunk you will see how it is nailed together. While parts were slightly mended somewhere along the way, this trunk is in great original condition. It stands 24 1/2″ tall at the top of the rounded top. It is 15″ deep and 28 1/2″ wide.
