Edmond Franois Valentin About (14 February 1828 16 January 1885), was a French novelist, publicist and journalist.
He made his name as an entertaining anti-clerical writer. The satirical Le roi des montagnes (The King of the Mountains, 1856) is the best-known of his novels.
This volume bears the bookplate of O.A. Dorman from New Haven, CT.
CONDITION: The binding is tight and firm with both covers and all pages attached. There is some scratches to the leather binding. Internally the pages are generally clean and bright with the occasional handling mark and isolated spot. There is a bookplate to the front pastedown. Overall the volume is in Very Good condition.
