For your consideration is this antique milk scale. The scale was made by Chatillon’s in New York, and it has a Patent date of December 10, 1867. The scale is marked “Improved Spring Balance,” and it is a hanging scale with a 24 pound capacity increasing by increments of 4. The scale measures 10″ long from the end of the hook to the hanging ring by 1 5/8″ wide. The scale is in good condition for its age, and it looks to have been cleaned. There are small spots of paint loss on the needle used to measure the pounds, but the functioning scale shows little usage wear throughout the rest of the item.
