Description
Here we have a cast iron buggy or carriage step, circa mid- to late 1800s.
The step plate measures 3 15/16″ wide, and 3 3/8″ deep. The mounting bracket is 3 5/8″ wide, and 4 3/8″ deep. From the end of the bracket to the end of the step plate, it is approximately 12″ (measured diagonally).
There is some rust, but there is no pitting. Overall, this step has a nice patina and is fully functional. For the restorer, it will need a stiff brush and a new coat of paint. 11255jas
