- Condition: Used
Here we have a lot of three items: One porcelain inkwell from Bavaria Germany, one redware pottery inkwell from Old Sturbridge Village, and one wooden ink blotter from Switzerland.
The porcelain inkwell is white with a blue “M” on the side. It measures 2″ high, and 2 3/4″ in diameter. On the bottom it reads, HUTSCHENREUTHER GERMANY, BAUSCHER WEIDEN, BAVARIA GERMANY, IMPORTATEAU DISTRIBUTEUR, S.E.F.I. NEUILLY s/SEINE.
The redware pottery inkwell has three portals on top and measures 2 1/2″ high, and 2 5/8″ in diameter. It is red with a golden-yellow glaze over it.
The antique wooden ink blotter is in the Arts & Crafts- Mission style. The base appears to be maple, and the handle on top is walnut.
Both inkwells are in sound condition. There are no cracks, chips, or previous repairs of any kind. The ink blotter has some ink staining on the top in a few spots, and some of the peaks are missing in the design.
Please keep in mind that these vintage items are USED, and they do have usage marks ordinarily seen on older pieces. This may include; scuffs, dust/dirt, scratches, small defects, and rubs. Please see the pictures for magnified detail, and to verify the condition as it is listed above.

By purchasing items with Tamarack Shack Antiques, 10% of all sales are donated to BEAM, the Belize Education & Action Ministry, a non-profit Christian organization. BEAM provides scholarships to King’s College as well as supports the monetary and spiritual needs of churches within northern Belize. King’s College in Belize is a Christian high school boarding school that prepares its students for success in life by teaching academic courses as well as various trades and job skills. Thank you for supporting these students as they further their education.
Other examples of the use of funds are building supplies for King’s College and affiliated churches. BEAM doesn’t spend funds on travel for USA volunteers to and from Belize, assuring that BEAM funds go directly to the Belizean people. If you have interest in becoming a volunteer, making more monetary contributions, or simply to network, contact Gene at 715.339.2819.
