Description
For your consideration is this vintage Northwestern countertop 1 cent peanut dispenser.
This was made in Morris, Illinois, and appears to be from about the 1930s. This has a nice art deco look and has the Northwestern orangish-red color to the porcelain enamel of the cast iron base and lid. The globe is of the stippled pattern and has the Northwestern logo embossed into the glass. The 1c sticker appears to be newer.
This has a key lock for the top and bottom, and they do open and lock. The base latch requires a bit of fiddling to get the mechanism lined up properly.
This stands about 16″ in overall height and is about 8″ in diameter.
There is some chipping noted to the enamel on the base, and the mechanism sticks. It seems to need adjustment or repair to function.
Please see the photos for more detail on this great old piece.
