Description
This is a unique mourning pin that dates to the Victorian Era. It features the gold-etched word “Mother” that has been filled in with finely cut hair and surrounded by hair flowers on a mother of pearl background under beveled glass. Some of this has deteriorated over the years. The back is what appears to be unmarked silver and has a nice deep patina that we have not taken off. The gold on front tested at 10K, and shows signs of wear. The back has a C-clasp indicative of its age. This piece has wear and tear from years of use but is still a very nice piece. It measures 1″ x 1/4″. Please see pictures for more details.
