Vintage Mexican Jose Luis Hernandez Bird Pottery Patented Barro-Cadlin Folk Art
Vintage Mexican Jose Luis Hernandez Bird Pottery Patented Barro-Cadlin Folk Art
For your consideration is this colorful Vintage Mexican Bird Pottery Bowl marked “Mexico” with a sticker that is printed “PATD No. 47-D BARRO-CADLIN J. LUIS HDEZ GLE 20 DE NOV. No. 8 TULNATONGO TEXCOCO, EDD. MEX”. Also bears the original price tag that it sold with in Mexico for $165. This bowl is patented, probably in Mexico, and measures 12″ from bill to tail, is about 6″ deep and the opening is approx 5″. This is made with a tan colored clay and is painted brick, blue, brown and green. The bill appears to have been repaired. There is also a chip on the edge of the bird’s bill and a larger one inside at the top of the opening. This would make a unique addition to your vintage pottery or folk art collection and may be one of a kind as it is patented and I cannot find anything like this anywhere! 18532 SB
