For your consideration is this English James Murdoch Verge Fusee pocket watch. This is a gilded silver case. This watch has an English date code that has an “k” and “JW”. JW is an English maker in London (possibly James Wintle). The case was made in 1845 according to the date code and I think the watch is from the same time period. The movement is marked, “James Murdoch Wallheads No.74”. The movement has got a fusee chain issue, but the balance seems ok. There is a verge type of escapement and a fusee. At some time the dial has been repaired near the center hole. The crystal is a bullseye crystal and is in excellent condition. The watch is missing its key.
