Description
Here is this antique kitchen item that appears to be a miniature churn. This item measures 7″ in height when the dasher is depressed and 2″ in diameter. The body is made of birch bark. This holds water and the top fits tightly. I believe that this was a functional item when it was made, and not meant to be a toy, for say a doll. The graining on the top and bottom is beautiful. It has a shellac that is even. The dasher has holes in the bottom circular part. The birch bark is held with hand cut brass staples/pins. There are three bands to stabilize the circular body shape. This is in very nice condition. This holds water. The shellac is even. The graining is impressive.
