ITEM TITLE

EAPG Early 19thC In Remembrance President Garfield Lincoln Washington Platter
  • Condition: Pre-owned
  • Notes: There are some utensil marks and fleabites on the edge of the top of the plate.

For your consideration is this Victorian Pressed Clear Glass In Remembrance American President Platter. It is 12 1/2″ long and 10 1/8″ wide. The presidents are Garfield, Washington, and Lincoln. Underneath the Presidents it reads God Reign;s First In Peace Charity For All. The top of the platter is smooth and all of the design is on the base. There are some utensil marks and fleabites on the edge of the top of the plate. I’m not sure when this platter was made or who the maker is but according to the Standard Encyclopedia of Pressed Glass by Bill Edwards & Mike Carwile (4th Edition 1860-1930) it was a memorial platter that was produced sometime after Garfield’s assassination in 1881. There are no chips or cracks. Please see the pictures for more detail.
