Mayan Cenote Yucatan Dig Pre-Columbian Stone Old Artifact Animal Frog Face L4Z
For your consideration is this wonderful artifact from the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The Mayans migrated to the area called Yucatan around 2500 B.C. and made many wonders from stone and clay that are being found to this day. The area was officially named Yucatan in 1517 by Cordova of Spain due to not being able to understand what the Mayans were telling him. In 1562 the Spaniards destroyed most of the Mayan’s books and statues in hopes of ruining their culture and colonizing them so the pieces found today are very valued, and much more so if in a whole piece. This piece we have for you measures 1.5″ long and wide and is of a frog face. The one eye that is stilll on the piece resembles the beads they made in this culture. The nose is fairly large and the lips as well. This is in “as is” condition from the dig and it comes with a display box. This is an amazing piece of history that you can own yourself.
