Description
We offer this poured bronze ingot from Laos / Thailand. This originated during the Lan Chang Kingdom (1550-1800) and was the currency of the time. It was used for trade (along with silver ingots) in trade and commerce until the end of the 19th century. It is referred to as boat money due to the boat-like shape made when poured. This ingot is in overall excellent condition. It measures 3 ½” (90mm) in length, 1 cm at its widest point, and weighs 25 grams. We have left it in the patina condition we received it in. Please see photos for more detail.
