For your consideration, we have a very early watercolor created by Ellen Eilers. This work looks to be from the 1950-60s, many years before “Life in Calico Country.”
This picture was professionally framed with anti-glare glass. Within the matting, it measures approximately 10 7/8″ wide, by 13 7/8″ high. Overall, the measurement is approximately 16 5/8″ wide, by 20 1/8″ high. Both the matting and the frame are in excellent condition.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Ellen Eilers was born just outside of Alexandria Minnesota on March 26, 1917. She was an elementary school teacher for most of her life, and at that time painting was just a hobby. After retiring from teaching, she took up painting full-time. Now at 97-years-old, painting is still her full-time profession. She has won numerous awards for her originality and creativity, as well as “Artist of the Year,” four years in a row in Minnesota, and the Charles Seeley Memorial Award for “Best Exhibit” in Wisconsin.
Her work is becoming well-known, not only around the country, but around the world as well.
