Description
For your consideration, we are offering this Mid-Century Tessellated Wall Mirror. We believe this was made by Maitland Smith. It measures 36″ tall by 44 1/2″ wide by 2 1/4″ deep. This has a decorative brass inlay. There is some patina on the brass making it appear dull in some areas. The black stone above and below the mirror is eye-catching and breaks up the white stone beautifully.
There are no cracks or chips to note in the mirror. There are two small cracks on each of the upward curved stone sides. The right side of the mirror has three spots that are noticeably lighter, these spots may be tape marks. There is a chip in the black stone close to the bottom of the mirror.
The metal hanger may need to be replaced eventually, it appears a little unraveled. The back may have been replaced, in my opinion, the screws were put in rather messy. The black felt glued around the backside of the stone is starting to come off, this could be easily reglued. These imperfections will not be easily noticed once the mirror is hanging. This will look lovely in a Mid-Century Style Home or Office.
